Summary of the initiative

From a derelict land parcel to a green oasis along our block

Igor Koprivnjak, one of the co-owners in Blok Vilima Korajca, prepared this project proposal and submitted it through eParticipativno.

"Korajčev park" is registered in the city project of participatory budgeting “Make a suggestion for a better neighborhood!”Citizens through this process propose projects for their district, and after the feasibility check they vote on which proposals will be financed and implemented.

The proposed area is on city-owned land parcel 2784/1 in the cadastral municipality of Stenjevec Jug, north of Ulica Vilima Korajca 3, 5, 7 and 9 and west of Ulica Dolina I. odvojak. According to the proposal, this is approximately 4,200 m² of land designated for sport and recreation, currently undeveloped and without public infrastructure.

The project was created at the initiative of the inhabitants of the surrounding buildings and builds on the earlier the Northern land parcels Regulation PetitionIt was supported by more than 500 people.

What the Project Suggests

Playing, walking, greenery and rest

The basic procedure is designed as a financially realistic, targeted arrangement, with the possibility of adding content according to the available budget.

  1. 01

cleaning the terrain and removal of ambrosia, weeds and waste

  2. 02

smaller children's playground with devices for different ages

  3. 03

benches, waste baskets and basic public lighting

  4. 04

  5. 05

  6. 06

additional facilities according to the available budget, such as outdoor fitness, dog area, gazebos and bicycle racks

Why it is important

Public space that the new part of the neighbourhood lacks

In the immediate vicinity, a large number of apartments have been built in recent years, while the regulated public facilities did not monitor the growth of the settlement.

First nearby public playground

Children and parents would get a safe and orderly place for everyday play near home.

Space for movement and socializing

A walkway, benches and recreational facilities would make it possible to stay outdoors for all generations.

A healthier and more comfortable environment

Cleaning the terrain, removing ambrosia and new trees would improve the appearance, shade and microclimate of the space.

Realistic municipal intervention

The estimated 30,000 60,000 is part of the available 250,000 for participatory projects of GČ Stenjevec.
